Welcome to Darwinx86. I am Marcus, a software engineer and longtime tech enthusiast based in Melbourne, Australia. I started this blog in 2023 as a place to share my thoughts on emerging technologies, artificial intelligence, and the ever-evolving landscape of computing.
With over a decade of experience working in systems engineering and cloud infrastructure, I found myself constantly reading about new developments in AI, machine learning, and hardware architecture. Darwinx86 grew out of my habit of writing notes and summaries for myself — eventually I figured others might find them useful too.
The name is a nod to both evolution and the x86 architecture that has powered personal computing for decades. Here you will find analysis pieces, tutorials, and commentary on topics ranging from large language models to low-level system design. I aim to make complex topics accessible without dumbing them down.
If you have feedback or would like to suggest a topic, feel free to reach out via the contact page. Thanks for reading.
